The Hay’s had Thanksgiving at the Davidson’s this year! Jonathan enjoyed all the extra space that Jeff and Brenda have to crawl and walk around. It was a nice day and the food was so yummy! Nolan spent the evening on the couch with Tanya watching the Dallas game. Karen and the rest of the ladies played with Jonathan and chatted. I went down to the basement to beat up on Jeff in a little table tennis (or perhaps it was the other way around – the lighting was bad). My dad came down later and I finally won a game. 🙂
The next day we had Thanksgiving with the Telander side of the family. It was a nice day as well, and the food was really good! It was this day that Jonathan really began walking on his own. I think being with his cousin Jeremiah helped a ton. It was pretty cool to see how Jonathan blossomed in just one night.
Well, Christmas wasn’t too far away and Karen and I were so excited to host this year. I decided I needed to work on my table tennis skills so I bought a set and put it together in the basement. We moved the Wii to the basement and setup the big screen for it. We hung lights on the house and the decorating was in full gear. Karen did a great job with being creative and setting up the house.
The Davidson’s surprised us on Christmas Eve with a gift for Jonathan that he loves so much. On Christmas Eve, we all opened one gift. Jonathan got a toy lawn mower (yes, our training begins early). Momma got her digital camera (again). Daddy got some new clothes for the evening.
That afternoon, we went over to the Telander’s to have Christmas. Good food and lots of fun! We even got a family pic (see below in photo section). That evening, we went over to Aunt Kathleen’s to celebrate my dad’s birthday. We had a nice time of reading the Christmas story and singing some carols. We had a wonderful surprise visit from Santa again this year. Jonathan just stared at Santa. He didn’t know what to think. Later on, the family passed out some gifts to the kids and Jonathan got a noise maker that he just loves!
After a late night to bed for all, Christmas day was here. Jonathan had so much fun opening up his presents. He got so much practice over the past couple of weeks that he was ripping the paper off easily. Daddy got Madden 10 and Modern Warfare for Wii! Momma got her much desired fancy trashcan! It was a nice day that only got better with all the family coming together at our house. There was a family table tennis match between the Hay’s and Telander’s. My day and I vs. Mr. Telander and Nathan. We won two straight and the best out of three. We felt sorry for the Telander’s and gave them an option for best out of 5. They came back and whooped us three in a row! We played the white elephant game (a fun gift exchange) and the evening ended with a lot of laughs and fun.
Below are pics and video of the holiday season! Merry Christmas and Enjoy!
