It didn’t take us long to name Baby 2 once we found out we were having a boy. Jonathan has my middle name and we have decided to carry on the family name, Robert for this baby. So, he will be named Robert Joshua Hay. We plan to call him Joshua, but we have already been asked if he can be called RJ. Well, of course! In fact, Jonathan seems to be able to say “JJ” easier than “RJ” or Joshua right now.
We were attracted to the name Joshua particularly because of the meaning. Many of you may know that Joshua means, “The Lord Saves”. However, we were drawn to the lesser known meaning of Joshua which is “The Lord is generous”. It’s funny how (at times) you tend to name your children after what is going on in your life or by what you are being challenged. “Generosity” has been a recurring theme this whole year for us. So, when I read the meaning of the name Joshua I was simply drawn to it and could not shake the name.
We are really excited and can’t wait to officially meet Robert Joshua. Karen’s due date is October 14, however this past week her doctor informed her that the baby is ready and that he could be here anytime now.
